Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers, Founder and President of iChange Nations™ has approved a new award in honor of a top World Peace Activist and Philanthropist, Ambassador Mussie Hailu. This award is the iChange Nations™ Ambassador Mussie Hailu Global Peace Award. Ambassador Hailu is known worldwide to be a man of high values, deep care for humanity and works around the world with the message of the Golden Rule.

At Texas Christian University, Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas in April, Dr. Donella Pitzl, Executive Director of Global Operations for iChange Nations™ as well as a World Civility Ambassador and a Golden Rule World Peace Ambassador, addressed a crowd of newly appointed Golden Rule International World Peace Ambassadors. She brought to the audience the framework of iChange Nations™ as well as the commissioning of the newly appointed World Peace Ambassadors. She said, “ICN is very happy to continue to appoint people helping mankind with the Golden Rule International Award for their service to and love for humanity of all cultures, races and religions around the world. Exemplifying with their lives, ‘Treating others the way they want to be treated.’”

Chris and Carol Green launch The Fruitful Life Coaching Matrix

Harrisburg, PA, USA - Today, Golden Rule World Peace Ambassadors, Chris and Carol Green, introduced their new Fruitful Life Coaching Matrix to human service providers, during a monthly staff training hosted by the Shalom House Women's Shelter in Harrisburg, PA. This new coaching matrix shows human service organizations how to adopt life coaching skill-sets within a case management paradigm.

The innovation came through a year-long series of monthly training sessions with the staff of a local women's shelter, and culminated in the presentation of a strategy the shelter could implement to ensure that every employee or volunteer is introduced to a Golden-Rule-based approach in their daily service to their clients and residents.

"We have been strategically introducing the staff to Golden Rule values and core beliefs," explains Dr. Carol Green, "Then we took them through personality assessments and self-awareness exercises, which proved to be necessary to get the needed buy-in for changing the way one has been doing things.  It is a huge challenge to get people, who have been involved in human services for many years, to adopt a life coaching approach within a traditional case management system."

The Greens have learned that organizations and agencies across the United States are recognizing the need to change and improve their training in helping their workers make a better connection with their clients. However, many case workers are still struggling with their own personal demons and inner barriers, which come rushing to the surface when they reach moments of frustrations with difficult clients.

"The Fruitful Life Coaching Matrix provides a practical way for a human service organization to ensure that their staff is empowered and equipped beyond the regular job-skills matrix," adds Dr. Chris Green. "The typical job-skill matrix is a checkbox that indicates how well the staffer can do her job. The Fruitful Life Coaching Matrix is all about ensuring that you have a healthy healer, who is more than just an employee who can handle her case management load."

The Greens are certified master life coaches, urban family advocates, marriage and family advisers, and community leadership consultants. In addition to the Life Coaching Matrix, this couple has created and implemented a proven coaching model that empowers people to push past the temptations to give up, and instead, make intentional, thoughtful and positive responses in spite of the devastation and obstacles in life.

For their community service, they received United Way's 2017 Volunteer of the Year Nominations. They also received Urban Leadership Awards (2016) and Community Ambassador Awards (2015) from iChange Nations™ and were appointed Goodwill Ambassadors of World Peace, as part of an interfaith peace-building initiative to the United Nations, by Golden Rule International.

World Peace Ambassador and Golden Rule Dialogue expert, Dr. Clyde Rivers, was in Aiken, South Carolina on the last weekend in January, to facilitate a Law Enforcement and community conciliatory conversation.

In what was billed as the 2017 South Carolina PACE (Police and Community Engagement) Summit, Dr. Rivers helped navigate the attendees through three challenging topics: 1.) Unraveling the Criminal Justice System: Rights, Roles and Rhetoric, 2.) Building Mutual Trust and Legitimacy with Law Enforcement and Community, and 3.) Developing Tools to Effectively Engage Diverse Communities.

The Summit, which was attended by about 80 people, included the mayor of Aiken, police chiefs, other representatives from law enforcement, fire and safety officials, the U.S. Attorney's office, and various community and religious leaders.

Dr . Rivers opened the Summit by speaking to the group about what he has seen all over the world. He explained the value and benefit of having law enforcement by describing what it is like in places that don't have it.

"At the beginning of the sessions the questions and comments were filled with fear, suspicion and accusation," observed Professor, Dr. Donni Pitzl, a Golden Rule Dialogue Chamber Leader, "But, by the end of the Summit, the conversation was filled with understanding and intentional efforts to honor one another."

That drastic change was due largely to Dr. Rivers' strategy through an exercise he calls, Listening for Change, wherein all parties are asked to genuinely listen to one another.  For example, in response to the accusation that police officers target minorities, the officers were able to explain that they are responding to calls. They don't have control over where the calls are coming from. Through that simple exchange, understanding was able to come to the surface.

"Even though we have hosted this type of Golden Rule dialogue around the world," said Dr. Rivers "I learned something new today. I saw that each side was approaching the issues from their own histories. I saw that if your history is the only history, then you will miss the history of others."

Dr. River's final assessment was that the Summit produced great talks. Even though it was very difficult conversation, there was great participation from all sides.

"Everyone wants the same goal," concluded Dr. Rivers. "We all want peaceful community. I believe America, through Golden Rule dialogue, has a great starting point to cultivate safe communities."
